From dancing lessons to pub crawls, stags and hens can now party with their dogs thanks to the unique idea of a Tyneside business.
Gateshead Stag and Hen Company, Last night of freedom, has launched what it believes to be the world’s first bachelor and bachelorette party for dogs. Dedicated pet owners will no longer have to leave their four-legged friends at home and can instead take them on a ‘puppy crawl’ in Newcastle’s bars and participate in dog-friendly activities like yoga and soccer.
Last Night Of Freedom general manager Matt Mavir said: ‘They say a dog is a man’s best friend so it only seems fair that they can pass the stag or the hen alongside their owner . Millennials have gone dog mad during lockdown.

“Now, a few years later, they’re all getting married, leaving many clients with the problem of what to do with their dog on their weekend. Rather than throwing them into a kennel, we think it’s the solution, plus having your dog by your side only enhances what will already be one of the most memorable weekends of your life.
The company offers customers a package that includes dog-friendly pubs, bars, hotels and activities, with the pups even getting their own personalized stag or hen t-shirt to feel like one of the members of the team.
“Geordies are known the world over for being friendly to people, but we love dogs too and that’s demonstrated by the dozen sites that have opened their arms to allow people to bring their pets,” said added Matt.
“We have almost a dozen activities – from football to dance lessons – that dogs are allowed to attend. Obviously, things like paintball are out of the question, but there’s a wide range of fun and quirky activities that also allow dogs to exercise while you’re having fun.”
