Knoxville shelter helps dog find new home after being hit by car

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — All of you Lord of the Rings fans will fall in love with our Pet of the Week, meet Radegast or Rada for short.

Young-William Animal Shelter says this dog is even more impressive than the immortal fantasy figure. Rada has been at the shelter for a while. He was actually injured when he was brought in. Young-Williams says he was hit by a car.

He’s still recovering, but we’re told he’s fine. In fact, he just had pins removed from his legs.

Rada is a two-year-old Border Collie. The family that is able to give him a home will need to help him as he continues to heal. The young Williams says he is doing well in training, but will do better with older kids or teenagers.

“He’s also doing well in training. Our behavior team here has been working with Radegast for a while just socializing him with animals and people. He’s done well in this training. a family that can take good care of him and understands his needs,” said Justin Young, chief marketing officer at Young-Williams.

Plus, Young-Willliams is up for a $100,000 prize from Petco for their romance campaign, but they need your help. If you’ve adopted a pet from Young Williams, go online and share your story on their website tab. You will also be eligible for prizes.
