Paul SchafferThe child is following in his old man’s footsteps – not so much with music per se, but certainly with spreading positive vibes for dogs in shelters and the people who love them!
We spoke to David Lettermanlongtime bandleader and sidekick, as well as Mr. Shaffer’s daughter, Victoriaon “TMZ Live” about this new initiative she started that focuses on dog ownership through adoptions/shelter placements.
It’s called Pup Culture Rescue, and basically… Victoria and co. are here to educate people on the process of becoming a doggie parent and why shelters should be the first place to look for a furry friend.
She also published a companion book — “Pup Culture: Stories, Tips, and the Importance of Adopting a Dog” — which helps serve as a guide to choosing the right puppy, where to look, and how to help your new pet grow. company acclimate to their new home.
Looks like VS and the rest of the folks who work for Pup Culture Rescue have been pretty busy during the pandemic – when people were adopting dogs like crazy while stuck at home… but she says a lot of owners are returning now the dogs at those same shelters.
That’s pretty lame, in Victoria’s opinion…as she notes, adopting a dog isn’t just a hobby or a fad you take on for a while – it should be seen as a lifetime commitment .
Anyway, his book is now out – and for anyone thinking of becoming a dog dad or mom… read it for a crash course in adoption, and check out his rescue while you are there.
