The Staffordshire Bull Terrier has been voted the UK’s favorite breed

Over the past three weeks, TeamDogs have teamed up with Pooch and Mutt in an effort to find the UK’s favorite dog breed, and it was the Staffordshire Bull Terriers that took the top spot.

Lovers of 52 dog breeds battled it out to have their favorite crowned best.

Staff members have led the competition head-on since its launch on July 26.

You can see the full ranking at TeamDogs where Staffies just propelled Black Labradors to first place.

The competition started three weeks ago with 47 breeds. Each week, the last 10 breeds were placed in “the kennel” and eliminated from the competition.

TeamDogs added breeds that voters thought deserved a spot in the competition, bringing the count to 52. These were Doberman Pinscher, Samoyed, Great Dane, Bedlington Terrier and Akita.

However, none of these ultimately managed to knock the Staffies out of first place.

Black Labradors, Boxers, Greyhounds and Border Collies have all proven to be very popular.

Black Labradors were also very popular

Kelly-Lee Wilde, who supported the Boxers, said: “They will always be winners in our eyes!”

As for the Staffies in first place, it’s no surprise for Suzanne Sargent, who previously spoke of the “love and loyalty” that runs through Staffie’s veins.

Susanna rooted for their victory throughout the competition .

She explained how her Staffy, Lola, speaks to her like no other breed could: “When I kiss Lola on the head, say ‘I love you’ like I do, she responds with some deep grunts that, I believe, are my beautiful little Staffie saying ‘I love you too’!”

Staffordshire Bull Terriers may have won, but the other breeds all have their loyal supporters.
